Views Halfway House

The new Halfway House at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort has been nominated for the World Golf Awards.

With uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and the distant North African coastline, the new Halfway House at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort boasts one of the most memorable settings in European golf. The venue has been nominated for the “World’s Best Halfway House” award at the World Golf Awards 2024, highlighting its potential for global recognition.

Calma, which has received accolades since its opening last August, offers players and visitors the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views while sampling a delicious menu based on local Andalusian produce. This is one of three prestigious awards for which the 36-hole Spanish golf resort has been nominated this year, and the winners will be announced in November in Madeira, Portugal.

In addition, the acclaimed Links course at La Hacienda Golf is in the running to be named “Best Golf Course in Spain” for the second year in a row, while the exclusive golf club is also among the candidates for the prestigious “Best Golf Venue in Europe” award.

Located next to the tenth hole of the Links course, Calma has been built using the best bioclimatic practices and sustainable materials, with a near-zero carbon footprint. It offers a variety of fresh tapas, snacks and desserts for golfers to enjoy, inviting members and visitors to take a 15-minute break before continuing their rounds of golf on the Links course.

With a small restaurant and a large terrace, the facility can host events for up to 200 people. It is managed by Sal Verde, the recently opened beach bar and restaurant at La Hacienda Golf, and forms part of the resort’s new investment in its ongoing transformation into one of Europe’s leading golf destinations.

“With its idyllic setting and unrivalled views of the Links countryside, the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa, Calma is a special place. We are very proud and to be nominated for this prestigious award is a great honour,” said Javier Jiménez-Casquet, General Manager of La Hacienda Links Golf Resort.

“When we started the renovation of the Links course, it was clear to us that this location was perfect for our Halfway house, and the incredible feedback we have received from everyone who visits us confirms that we made the right choice. We enjoyed a fantastic night at the World Golf Awards last year when the Links course was named the best in Spain. It would be amazing to win another major award and we encourage as many people as possible to vote to help us achieve our dream,” explained Javier Jiménez-Casquet in his remarks.

Located in the municipality of San Roque, near Sotogrande, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort has undergone a significant renovation in the last two years, with numerous improvements both on and off the golf course.

The resort is also continuing preparations to launch a new luxury Fairmont hotel and villas in the coming months, underlining its ambition to become one of Spain’s most exclusive and luxurious golf developments.
