Millenium Hospitality has presented this Wednesday at the stand of Campo de Gibraltar in Fitur, the International Tourism Fair, its project La Hacienda, the new brand in which it has converted Alcaidesa Golf, one of the golf courses that already enjoyed greater recognition in the golf circuit between the municipalities of San Roque and La Linea under the pillars of sustainability, exclusivity and health security.
The company, which specializes in the luxury hotel sector in Spain and Portugal, has successfully transformed what is the only links golf course in southern Europe into a project destined to become a flagship of the sport. After a thorough renovation, the La Hacienda golf course is scheduled to open in June 2022;
Javier Illán, president of Millenium Hospitality, presented the reform of the golf course, which is the first phase of a project La Hacienda, which will encompass both the facilities of this practice and a luxury resort, which will occupy the plots that Millenium Hospitality acquired in 2019.
The complex, which aspires to become the benchmark for quality tourism in southern Europe, is located in the municipality of San Roque, on the beachfront and will have a 150-room hotel, villas and a refurbished golf course when the transformation process is completed;
Javier Illán detailed the development project and emphasized that it is “a very important investment for the company, in a strategic location due to its tourism potential and the lack of modern, high quality hotel complexes demanded by clients and operators. With La Hacienda, we have sought to respond to this demand and it will also perfectly complement Millenium’s portfolio of emblematic assets. In short, we want to be one of the best golf resorts in Europe;
“In fact, there is currently a huge pent-up demand for golf vacations and in the last few months of 2021 we have already seen record bookings where international travel restrictions have been lifted,” remarks Illán.
Improved facilities and customer service;
The company has worked to convert Alcaidesa Links, which has 18 holes par 72 and was inaugurated in 1992, into a modern and sustainable golf course, renewing the machinery, the fleet of buggies, as well as implementing a new operations system to optimize customer service; In addition, during the refurbishment, special emphasis was placed on health safety after Covid.
In fact, the International Association of Golf Tourism (IAGTO) has recognized the work carried out during the months of the pandemic, awarding it the IAGTO Outstanding Service Award 2021 in the Golf Resort category; A recognition of the flexibility, the efforts made and the service offered to operators and customers during the pandemic period, as well as for having created a safe environment in their facilities by implementing all the measures against Covid-19.
The orography of the land of La Hacienda is formed by gentle slopes that descend towards the sea, ending in a beautiful beach, which creates a front of almost 2 km so that most of its holes border the beach; One of the peculiarities of the course that most impresses the visitor is its spectacular view of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa;
